We give PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
The PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Grooming kit provides a grooming solution for practically all canines. This kit has several attachments, allowing you to trim and brush your canine. A de-shedding brush is included, which is very useful for high-shedding dog breeds (just ask my Husky).
I tested each attachment on several different types of dogs, getting a pretty good idea of how this kit performs. For my complete review, keep reading.
What Is the PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit? How Does it Work?
This pet grooming kit has five attachments: clippers, a grooming brush, a de-shedding brush, a paw trimmer, and a crevice tool. It allows you to groom practically any canine. It helps ensure your dog’s coat stays clean and healthy.
All of these attachments hook up to the included vacuum. You can cut and de-shed your dog (or cat) without getting fur all over your house. The powerful motor allows the vacuum to work efficiently on even the hairiest dogs.
The vacuum has a 1.4L dust cup that’s washable and detachable. It pops off with the click of a button and then easily slides back on. It also has three adjustable modes, with the first being very quiet, which is very useful for dogs scared of noise.
It works on practically all hair types and dogs, making it one of the most versatile kits.
PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit – A Quick Look
- Versatile and works for most dogs
- Professional-quality clippers
- Very powerful motor works on practically all fur
- Low noise level with three adjustable modes
- Strong suction that collects most hair
- Trimming head doesn’t get through thick fur
- Expensive
Pricing
The complete kit is pretty expensive, especially compared to other grooming kits. However, it comes with everything you need to groom practically any dog. Not all dogs will need every tool, though. Therefore, you probably won’t use all the tools if you only have one dog (or a few dogs with similar grooming needs).
I have two Shih Tzus and a Siberian Husky, so I need every tool in the kit. That makes the price worth it in the end. Many dog owners may find this kit far too expensive for their needs, though, especially when they won’t use most attachments.

- Grooming brush (basically a pin brush)
- Deshedding tool
- Body fur trimmer
- Paw trimmer
- Crevice tool
Performance
The PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit has a powerful motor that provides strong suction. It collects most of the pet fur and is pretty easy to empty. The inside is very smooth, so the hair falls out without much effort.
It also has a low noise level of less than 60dB, which is excellent for pets that are sensitive to loud sounds. The kit has three adjustable modes: low, medium, and high, which allow you to choose the best setting for your pet’s hair type and length. I typically used the lower two levels, as my Siberian Husky was not having the loud noise.
I have used the kit on my Siberian Husky and Shih Tzu. The grooming brush didn’t work super well on either dog. However, it would work well for a shorthaired dog that sheds a lot, such as a Beagle. It’s basically a self-cleaning pin brush. The de-shedding brush did work very well, though. It removed much of my Husky’s loose fur quickly.
In fact, it was one of the best brushes I’ve ever used.
The trimmers worked okay. They aren’t professional-grade, necessarily. However, they would get the job done for a straightforward trim if your dog’s fur wasn’t tangled or very long.
Features
This tool is corded. However, the cord is rather long and worked well in every situation I used it in. It has an ergonomic handle, though I didn’t use it very much. The LED display makes it easy to tell what mode the vacuum is in.
The detachable dust cup can hold 1.4 L of pet hair. I had to empty it four times when grooming my Husky!
All the tools have stainless steel parts. Both brushes are self-cleaning, and the fur cleaned from them goes straight into the vacuum. The trimmers come with four detachable guard combs. However, the dog’s fur tended to snag in these guards, which is one reason I can’t give the kit a perfect score.
The tube leading from the attachments to the vacuum is clear, allowing you to see clogs. If you’ve ever tried to unclog a vacuum, you’ll know just how important this feature is.
Is the PETKIT AirClippers 5-in-1 Grooming Kit Good Value?
This kit is very expensive, so it’s not surprising most potential buyers are worried about the value. In my opinion, the clippers have a pretty good value if you’re going to use most of the attachments. The trimmer works well if you use it correctly, and the de-shedding tool is amazing.
I won’t be using the brush, as it just doesn’t work well for my dogs. However, all the other tools will get used regularly in my home.
Plus, based on how well the de-shedding tool works, I would pay full price just for it. My Husky has never been as well-groomed as he is now, and it didn’t take me very much work.
FAQ
How long is the cord and does it limit mobility?
I didn’t find the cord to limit mobility in the least. The cord is several feet long and can reach across the room.
How loud is the motor and does it scare pets?
The motor isn’t very loud. I have a dog that hates vacuums, and he was perfectly fine with the first two levels. The highest setting is loud, so I didn’t use it. However, I didn’t really need to, either. The suction of the first two levels was enough.
How easy is it to switch between the attachments?
Very easy. You simply press a button, pull the attachment off, and put the new one on until it snaps. It takes about 5 seconds.
Our Experience with the PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit
I have been using the PETKIT AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit for a month now, and I am very impressed with its performance and features. I have two Shih Tzus and a Siberian Husky, and this kit has helped me groom them at home pretty easily.
The kit comes with a body fur trimmer and a paw trimmer, both with carbon steel blades and ceramic moving blades. The trimmer works well and gets through tougher hair, such as the Husky’s thick coat. It has a dual-speed rotary motor that provides smooth cutting without pulling or clogging. It also has four detachable guard combs for different lengths of hair.
However, I found that the guards handicap the trimmers and snag the dogs’ hair. My Shih Tzus did not like the trimmer as much as my usual trimmers for this reason. They also seemed to be uncomfortable with the trimming head pointing down.
They do take some getting used to, even though I’ve groomed my dogs monthly for the last 11 years. I accidentally cut their fur too short at first, so my first one looked like she had a bald spot in the middle of her back for a few weeks!
I used the trimmers the first time when taking my dog’s coat down from a longer, winter cut to a puppy cut. Therefore, I was removing several inches of hair. The trimmers snagged several times, though the trimmer could get through it without the guard.
The kit comes with two different brushing tools: a grooming brush and a de-shedding brush. Both brushes have self-cleaning buttons that eject the hair with one press. This is very convenient and can be done with one hand.
This feature is great because I have to keep one hand on my Husky while brushing.
The grooming brush is appropriate for eliminating loose fur and untangling minor mats without causing discomfort. It worked well for both the Shih Tzu and Husky, keeping their coats smooth and fluffy. The de-shedding brush is ideal for removing dead undercoat hair without damaging the topcoat. It works very well for the Husky, who sheds a lot of hair.
The vacuum is a great feature. It’s easy to use, not very loud and collects most of the hair. As long as I hit the self-clean button on the brushes enough, practically all the hair was collected by the vacuum.
Conclusion
The PetKit AirClipper 5-in-1 Pet Grooming Kit is a versatile grooming kit that works exceedingly well on practically any dog. It comes with two grooming brushes, two trimmers, and a crevice tool for vacuuming after grooming.
The de-shedding tool is easily the best thing I’ve ever used for my Siberian Husky—and I’ve used it a lot. However, I’m not completely sold on the trimmers. They snagged a lot more than other trimmers I’ve used with the guards on. However, without the guards, it basically cuts the hair all the way down.
Therefore, for the time being, I’m going to be using my old clippers. However, the de-shedding brush will be used several times a week.
