Cause of This Dog Food Recall
The potential for Salmonella contamination was discovered during a routine check. To date, there have been no illnesses reported in relation to these products, and no other Sunshine Mills, Inc. pet food products are affected by this recall.
What You Need to Know About Salmonella Poisoning
If your pet has Salmonella infection, they may become lethargic and have a fever, diarrhea or potentially bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Some less obvious side effects include: decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. If your pet has become infected but is still otherwise healthy they can still be carriers of Salmonella and infect other animals or humans. If you know or suspect your pet has consumed the recalled product, or is currently experiencing any these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian immediately, and discontinue use of the product.
What to Do Next
Consumers who have purchased the recalled items mentioned above should stop the use of the product immediately and may return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a full refund.
