May 17, 2024 – Mars Petcare has issued a voluntary recall of Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food due to the potential presence of loose metal pieces in the bag.

Dog Foods Recalled

Mars Petcare has recalled the 44lb bags of Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food with the Lot Code 410B2TXT02 and a Best By Date of March 4, 2025. This information is visible on the back of the bag near the base, next to the bar code.

The affected products are 315 bags of dry dog food that Walmart sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The risks of loose metal parts in dog food are potential choking, internal damage if swallowed, and damage to teeth if chewed.

Mars Petcare U.S. is working with Walmart in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas to ensure the affected products are no longer sold and removed from inventory.

No other Pedigree or Mars Petcare U.S. products are affected or are being recalled.

Consumers who have purchased this dog food are recommended to stop using it immediately.

If you have fed your dog some of the contaminated Pedigree dog food, Mars Petcare U.S. advises you to monitor them for unusual behavior and contact a veterinarian in the event of any concerns.
