Purina Pro Plan Vet Diet Recall

As of December 2, 2022 —Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is recalling Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Low Fat prescription wet dog food due to a labeling error.
What Dog Food Products Have Been Recalled?
Identifying the mislabeled product can be done by checking the UPC (38100 17599)on the label, as well as by the production code (22581159 L4TR6) and the “Best Before Sept 2024” date on the bottom of each can.
Cause of This Dog Treat Recall
In September of 2022 cans of a different Purina, adult dog food was mislabeled as PPVD EN Low Fat in one of the company’s factories.
The mislabeled diet is safe to feed, but it is not the intended formula for dogs requiring a prescription Low Fat diet or who may have sensitivities to traditional diets or difficulty digesting fat.

What to do Next
Although no pets are in danger from this recall, Purina recommends that pet parents discard any of the affected products, and replace them with their pet’s correct products as quickly as possible.
