Manitoba is a land of lakes and rivers, making it the perfect destination for water-loving dogs. This Canadian province also has plenty of sandy beaches. From the rocky shores of Winnipeg Beach to the sandy coves of Rainbow Beach, there are many great places for you and your dog to stretch your legs during summer. However, note that many provincial parks in Manitoba only allow pets in designated swimming areas, so make sure you’re prepared.

Fortunately, there are several places that will welcome your four-legged friend with open arms. So, ditch the indoor kennels, and read this list of the top 10 dog-friendly beaches in Manitoba!

1. Winnipeg Beach Dog Beach

10. Asessippi Provincial Park

  • This is a 23-square-kilometer provincial park located at the south end of Lac des Prairies.
  • A dog-friendly swimming area can be accessed on the northwest side of Shell Mouth Dam.
  • It boasts gorgeous scenery, a sandy beach, a campground, and a day-use picnic area.
  • The water isn’t as clear and clean as in some other parks, so you might want to leave your dog to swim on their own!
