January 3, 2025 – Blue Ridge Beef is voluntarily recalling 1,350 lbs. of their 2 1b log Blue Ridge Beef Kitten Mix due to a contamination of Salmonella.
What You Need to Know About Salmonella Poisoning
If your pet has a Salmonella infection, they may become lethargic and have fever, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Some less obvious side effects are decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet has become infected but is still otherwise healthy they can still be carriers of Salmonella and infect other animals or humans. If you know your pet has consumed the recalled product or is experiencing these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
If you have products matching the following description and sell by date you should stop feeding them to your cats and dispose of them immediately.

The products were distributed between July 18, 2024 to July 26, 2024. The product is packaged in clear plastic and sold primarily in retail stores located in the States of: Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania. Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York. Products affected are Blue Ridge Beef Kitten Mix of 2 1b with UPC number 854298001436 and lot number N25-0716.
