January 31, 2025 – Blue Ridge Beef issued a voluntary recall of 5,700 lbs of its 2 lb log Natural Mix due to possible contamination of Salmonella.
What You Need to Know About Salmonella Contamination
If your pet has a Salmonella infection, they may become lethargic and have fever, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Some less obvious side effects are decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet has become infected but is still otherwise healthy they can still be carriers of Salmonella and infect other animals or humans. If you know your pet has consumed the recalled product or is experiencing these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
If you have products matching the following description and sell by date you should stop feeding them to your cats and dispose of them immediately.

There is a risk to humans from handling these contaminated foods, especially if they have not washed their hands after having contact with the products or surfaces exposed to these pet foods.
If you show signs of infection after contact with recalled products or a pet that has consumed them, contact your healthcare provider.
Dog Foods Recalled
The affected pet food consists of 5,700 lbs of their 2 lb log of Blue Ridge Beef Natural Mix (Lot #N25/12/31, UPC 854298001054).
The affected products were distributed to retail stores in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York State, Tennessee, Rhode Island.
The products were distributed between January 3rd, 2025, and January 24th, 2025.
What to Do Next
Anyone who thinks their pets have become ill after consuming contaminated pet food should first contact their veterinarians.
Consumers are advised to destroy the food in a way that children, pets, and wildlife cannot access and sanitize pet food bowls, cups, and storage containers.
