Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews are a dog treat designed to help support skin health and mitigate skin allergies in dogs. This product takes a different approach compared to other skin chews in that it uses hemp as a primary ingredient. Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews are designed to be given to your dog daily and, through the use of hemp, fish oil, and lecithin, reduce the severity and frequency of recurring skin allergies. But does it work? Are the chews tasty? Are the ingredients safe and effective? Those are the questions I had when I started testing this product. Here is what I found out.

The company was founded in order to better serve its beloved pets, with the founders’ dog, Maximus, being the mascot of the company’s earliest efforts. A US-based company, Innovet Pet Products designs and manufactures their own products. Their products are manufactured and formulated in the United States. Some ingredients are imported, such as some strains of hemp oil, which come from Northern Europe while others are sourced directly from the US.
Which Types of Pets Is Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews Best Suited For?
Innovet Pet Products are suited for pet owners with specific pet problems and looking to try something unique. There are dozens of generic and nearly identical supplements and chews that you can find online. Innovet is not one of them. Innovet’s products are priced fairly and come with benefits that set them apart from others. If you are someone who has not had luck with generic products, you should give Innovet a try.
Discussion of the Primary Ingredients (Good and Bad)
The backbone of the Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews is hemp. This chew features both hemp extract and hemp seed oil. Hemp is said to improve the function endocannabinoid system, one that directly affects all other systems in your pet’s body.
Organic Hemp Extract
Organic Hemp Extract gives these chews a bit of a CBD kick. The CBD in the hemp extract may help keep your dog’s skin healthy and suppress allergic reactions. If you are open to giving your pet CBD, this is a good ingredient to see. The only foreseeable problem would be if too many are taken at once. Be careful not to let your dog (or anyone else in your house) get into the treats and help themselves to a whole bunch at one time.
Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp Seed Oil is a type of omega fatty acid that is said to support the immune system by blocking allergy symptoms when triggered. Again, the hemp and CBD combination are compounded to try and tamp down overactive allergies. The presence of hemp seed oil adds an extra punch to these chews that go very well with the fish oil.
Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil (Fish Oil)
Innovet not only tinkered with hemp seed oil, but they also added omega-3 fatty acid via fish oil. This fish oil is derived from Wild Alaskan Salmon, which is a favorable flavor for many dogs. It is important to note that these treats do not have any meat in them, only the oil derivative. Together, these treats have a powerful punch of EPA, DHA, CBD, and complex organic compounds that help facilitate skin health and improve allergies.
Chickpea Flour and Tapioca Starch (Grain Free Body)
These treats are grain free. In order to keep them grain-free, they are made from chickpea flour and tapioca starch. These ingredients are used to give the treat form and shape and provide a healthy mode to transport the fats and oils into your dog’s system.
Innovet Skin & Coat Soft Chews Review
The Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews are full of overlapping ingredients that work together to improve skin health and allergies. The combination of hemp, zinc, fish oil, legumes, and lecithin is a potent mixture. These ingredients give your dog the compounds that they need to maintain a healthy coat and reduce inflammation and allergic reactions. These chews are made in the United States with both local and imported ingredients.
The canister includes 90 individual chews for $28.99 on Innovet’s website and on Amazon. (There doesn’t seem to be a difference in price between the two sites.) That factors out to $0.32 per chew. If you give two chews per day, that is $0.64 per day.
Overall, these chews seem tasty, full of potent ingredients, and available for a fair price.
Our Experience With Innovet Skin & Coat Soft Chews
The first thing I noticed about the Innovet Advanced Skin & Coat Support Soft Chews is the packaging is very sharp. The labeling is eye-catching, and all of the information is clearly visible and easy to read. That is a big plus. It is frustrating when you have to squint and hunt down the important information hiding behind health claims. You don’t have that problem with these chews.
At first, my dogs, Zeta & Blanche, were apprehensive about the chews. However, it only took them a few minutes to ponder over the treats before they ate them and then asked for more. Neither of my dogs suffer from allergies, but occasionally experience anxiety. I was curious to see if the chews would help calm them down. After a few days of trying these chews, both Zeta and Blanche did seem much calmer. Zeta was licking her paws less and both had a bit of an extra sheen in their curly poodle coats.
This was my first time giving my dogs regular CBD chews. Innovet made me comfortable with it with their clear labeling. The container will last us about a month if each dog takes one chew per day. A great value for two dogs that comes with a wealth of benefits, especially since Poodles can be prone to skin conditions and allergies and require additional love to keep their coats in tip-top shape.
These chews are a great option for anyone looking to try some CBD or hemp products on their pets. It could be a good option for dogs who are battling skin issues or allergies and haven’t had any luck with other products. The ingredients are simple and natural. Innovet also provides a helpful guide so you know how much and how often to offer up a treat.
