Our Final Verdict

We give the Pet Pleasant Pet Spray a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Quality: 4.8/5
Scent: 5/5
Ingredients: 5/5
Value: 4.8/5

If there’s one thing all dog owners know well, it’s the smell of a dirty dog. From rolling in the grass to playing in the mud, your pup has had their fair share of unique and undesirable odors, much to the dismay of yourself and the unfortunate few who have to smell it. And if one thing holds true, it’s that masking the smell of a dirty dog is hard to achieve, especially if you don’t have the right products or the time to give Fido a full bath.

As much as you try to keep your pup clean, dogs will be dogs. There will be muddy paws and wet fur, slobbery mouths, and the occasional vomit. And let’s be honest, no one has time to bathe their dog every time their furry friend acquires a less-than-aromatic smell. But that’s okay! Because with Honeydew’s Pet Pleasant Pet Spray, bath time can wait.

The Pet Spray is a fast-acting dog deodorizer that works to eliminate pet odors and leave your pup smelling fresh. Scented with lavender oil and free from harsh chemicals, the Pet Spray is a natural and easy way for you to keep your dog smelling clean between baths or when you’re on the go. Not to mention, as a leader in personal care products, Honeydew is dedicated to providing people (and their pets!) with high-quality products formulated with real ingredients. I tried out the Pet Spray for my Goldendoodle, Micah, and was impressed with the high-quality ingredients and lavender aroma.

About Pet Pleasant

Who Makes the Pet Spray?

Pet Pleasant is a line of dog products by Honeydew, a holistic personal care company and division of Maple Holistics. Maple Holistics was founded in 2001 by two lifelong friends on a mission to formulate hair products using essential oils and other naturally derived ingredients. After successfully creating formulas for a wide range of hair types and concerns, the duo expanded their company from a makeshift laboratory in Ohio to a state-of-the-art facility in New Jersey.

Today, Maple Holistics and Honeydew manufacture a variety of personal care products using natural ingredients that are sustainably sourced. Along with their commitment to being environmentally conscious, all of their products are expertly formulated and manufactured in-house so they can tailor their products to specific concerns and needs. The company is also dedicated to being cruelty-free and stands by the motto, “First, do no harm,” which means animals are never used in the testing process. Instead, they test the products on themselves!

As a company that strives to create the best personal care products on the market, you can count on Maple Holistics and Honeydew to deliver high-quality products for you and your furry friend.

Who is the Pet Spray Best Suited For?

The Pet Spray is designed to eliminate pet odors and can be used on dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. The gentle ingredients make the spray a great option for puppies, dogs with sensitive skin, and dog owners looking for a natural pet spray that’s free of harsh chemicals and additives like parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances.

As a deodorizing spray, the product is meant to be used in between baths or as a post-bath perfume (if you want to give your pup the ultimate spa experience). While the spray doesn’t replace bath time altogether, it does make for a quick and easy clean between washes or when you’re on the go.

It’s important to note that all of Honeydew’s Pet Pleasant products are geared toward dogs, including the Pet Spray, and should not be used on cats. Since cats are more sensitive to essential oils than dogs, only pet sprays formulated for cats should be used for your feline fur baby.

Overview

Pet Pleasant Pet Spray - micah with product and towel

When it comes to pet care products, ingredients matter. I’m careful about what I put on Micah’s skin, and I wouldn’t use anything on him that I wouldn’t use on myself. Luckily, Pet Pleasant products are made to lovingly nurture your best bud with real ingredients that are safe and gentle. The spray is quick and easy to use too, which makes it the perfect bath-free solution when your dog needs a quick clean!

Ingredients

As a company that values holistic pet care, Honeydew is dedicated to delivering products solely made from natural ingredients, like pure essential oils. Two main ingredients in Honeydew’s Pet Spray (and the ones credited to keeping your pup smelling fresh) are lavender essential oil and evening primrose oil.

The lavender oil cleanses your dog’s fur and leaves your pup with a glowing coat and floral aroma, and the evening primrose oil promotes balanced care by hydrating your dog’s fur. Together, these oils effectively neutralize undesirable odors, nourish your pup’s coat, and leave your dog smelling fresh.

I found the spray to be effective at eliminating dog odors. The lavender scent was strong without being overpowering and the spray left Micah smelling like he’d just had a bath. I also love that the spray is made with natural ingredients, especially since it’s something that goes directly on Micah’s skin. Since many products are made with chemicals, it’s worth noting what’s not in the spray.

When you buy the Pet Spray, you can be sure the product is free of the following ingredients:

  • Sulfates
  • Parabens
  • Artificial fragrances
  • Phthalates
  • Harsh chemicals
  • Formaldehyde

How it Works

The Pet Spray is easy to use. All that’s needed is a quick shake of the bottle and gentle spray on your pup’s dry coat before your dog will be smelling clean. It’s best to have a towel on hand so you can dry your pup’s fur after using the spray. Once your dog’s coat is completely dry, you can brush through their fur to remove any dirt. While the spray can be used whenever you’d like, Honeydew markets the spray as being a dog deodorizer and a waterless shampoo.

As a dog deodorizer, the spray works to tackle any undesirable odors coming from your dog’s fur and cleanse your pup with the long-lasting scent of fresh lavender. Infused with essential oils and formulated with nourishing ingredients, your pup will smell clean long after that “wet dog” smell is gone.

As a waterless shampoo, the spray is like an aromatic version of dry shampoo for dogs and is designed to cleanse your pup’s skin and fur without giving them a bath. So if you don’t have time to give your dog a full bath, you can use the spray as a waterless, rinse-less alternative to freshen up your pup.

Returns

All of Honeydew’s products, including the Pet Pleasant line, are backed by their Quality Guarantee. This means if you are unhappy with the product or the results, Honeydew’s team will replace the item you chose with a different product or give you a full refund. If you have any questions about Honeydew’s pet products or your order, you can contact their Customer Support team.

The Pet Spray is scented with lavender oil, which has a sweet, floral aroma mixed with herbal undertones. The scent is strong without being overwhelming and is the perfect fragrance for keeping your dog smelling fresh. Lavender is also quick to eliminate odors from your pet’s fur, which makes it a great natural scent for a deodorizing spray. Overall, the Pet Spray not only smells amazing but keeps your pup smelling clean long after they’ve been sprayed.

In addition to being a cruelty-free, vegan-friendly brand, all of Honeydew’s products are manufactured in a solar-powered plant. Is Pet Pleasant Pet Spray a Good Value?

Honeydew’s Pet Spray is a good value, especially when considering the high-quality design and natural ingredients. Nope! While the Pet Spray is great for nourishing your dog’s skin and coat and is effective at eliminating pet odors, it’s not intended to treat or prevent allergies or any other medical condition. Our Experience with the Pet Pleasant Pet Spray

I love a good natural product, so when I heard about Honeydew’s Pet Pleasant Spray, I was eager to try it out on Micah.

Aside from the thought of having a fresh-smelling dog all the time, the clean, natural ingredients are what initially piqued my interest. Micah has sensitive skin, so when I saw that the spray was scented with essential oils and free of harsh ingredients, like parabens and sulfates, I knew the product was worth trying out. There were a couple of ingredients that I was unfamiliar with, but after a quick Google search, I found out they’re naturally derived and relatively harmless.

Having never used a dog deodorizing spray before, I was impressed with how effective it was at eliminating odors from Micah’s fur. Micah does not like spray bottles and did not enjoy being sprayed (sorry buddy), but after using the spray, he smelled so fresh and clean. The spray made his fur soft and shiny too, which was an added bonus I wasn’t expecting!

If there’s one thing that stood out the most, it was the lavender fragrance. The lavender scent is strong enough to mask odors but mild enough to not be overbearing, and it doesn’t have an artificial scent like many synthetic fragrances, which is something I greatly appreciate. I also appreciated how quick and easy it was to use. I’m able to give Micah a waterless bath in less than five minutes, which (speaking from experience) is great for when you’re running out the door or when you have last-minute house guests. I’ve also started using the spray on Micah as a post-bath perfume, and it leaves him smelling fresh much longer than our traditional routine without the spray.

While the Pet Spray is sold on its own, you also have the option to buy it as a bundle with the Pet Pleasant Dog Shampoo. Both products are made with natural ingredients and scented with lavender, so if you want to give your dog the ultimate spa experience, the Pet Shampoo and Spray Set is worth checking out.

I will say, when the product arrived, I was a little disappointed with the packaging. The bottle came in a standard Amazon box and was sealed with plastic wrapping. Despite having an air-tight seal, the packaging was soapy and wet as if liquid had leaked out of the bottle, and the bottle itself was sticky. The bottle was still full when it arrived and it was nothing a quick rinse couldn’t fix, but it’s still worth noting.

Even though the packaging could be a little better, the spray itself was highly effective. I love that I can keep Micah smelling fresh and clean between baths, and I will definitely be using the spray before long car rides or on rainy days when we’re cooped up inside.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a quick way to eliminate pet odor or want the perfect dog perfume to keep your pup clean between baths, the Pet Pleasant Pet Spray is a great option. With natural ingredients and a mild aroma, the Pet Spray keeps strong odors at bay and your dog smelling fresh. After using the spray on Micah, I would not only buy this product again but recommend it to other dog owners looking for an effective and natural way to neutralize tough smells.
