It’s important to remember, however, that it gets extremely hot in Sedona, especially in summer. You must bring plenty of water and sunscreen for you and your dog, and be prepared for extreme heat. Many day hikers bring umbrellas for sun protection.

From what we’ve seen, parking at many of these dog-friendly Sedona trails is a bit problematic, so it’s best to arrive early. The good news is that, by doing so, you can also be done with your hike before the Arizona heat gets to be too much for you and your dog.
