What Is a Phantom Cockapoo?

Do All Cockapoos Fade?

Yes, most Cockapoos begin to fade at around 6 months of age. The process will be very subtle at first, but usually, by the time the dog is 2 years of age, they have faded to a lighter color.

This is said to be inherited from a gene passed down by their Poodle parent. It’s safe to say that not all Cockapoos fade colors over time, but it is a well-known phenomenon that is likely to happen to your Cockapoo, so it’s best to be on the lookout for it.

Most of these conditions are inherited from the parents of the Cockapoo, so there is no guarantee that your pet will have any of these health problems.

If you see any troubling symptoms with your Phantom Cockapoo, it is best to get your pet to a vet for treatment right away. Yearly vet examinations will also help to catch these diseases early, so they can be treated before they go too far.
