Now, we know what you’re expecting: the names of the most famous Dalmatians of all time. All one hundred and one of them. But did you know that in the original story, only four adult Dalmatians and 15 puppies are actually named? Turns out, Disney did most of the naming later, but there was never a full list of the puppies names put out!

But that’s nothing to worry about because there are so many names that will be perfect for your Dalmatian you will barely know where to begin! If you’re feeling overwhelmed –– even at something as simple as learning that Dalmatian has an ‘a’ at the end, not an ‘o’ (it’s not Dalmation, it’s Dalmatian) – we’ve got your back.

We’ve put together a list of our favorite names for girls and boys, which do include some of the best from the books and movies we all know and love. Are you ready? Warn the town, your Dalmatian pup’s name is about to be selected.

Dalmatian Fire Dog Names

Why is it that when you think of a firehouse dog you automatically think of a Dalmatian? Turns out it has nothing to do with their bravery around fire, rather the breed was well known for running alongside the horses in the horse-drawn fire engines, naturally keeping the same pace with the horses and protecting them from other dogs or animals! So, they were hired!

It might be fun to name your Dalmatian after the breed’s legacy even if you never expect him to help you put out a fire. But be sure that he will warn you if there’s smoke around!
