While outdoor dog parks are fun places for many dogs to play in, they may not be the best place for some dogs to let off some steam, especially during the winter. Indoor dog parks are a great rainy-day alternative, and they also offer a little more control of the environment as they remove any outdoor environmental safety risks.

You can find a handful of indoor dog parks in and near Chicago. No two indoor dog parks are the same, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Here’s what you need to know before visiting one of these indoor spaces for dogs.
