The Golden Retriever is a medium-sized dog breed that has a long, thick coat that comes in different shades such as dark and light gold, standard gold, and even creamy white. They have down-turned ears with an upturned nose and a medium-sized snout with a longer upper lip.

They have a rigid back with long legs, with male Golden Retrievers being slightly larger than females who have a rounder abdomen. The Golden Retriever has a slightly longer body than height with a deep chest and ears that reach their black button eyes. This dog breed has rounded feet that help them to be strong footed with thick paw pads and curling nails that help them to run.

The Golden Retriever is a friendly, confident, and intelligent dog breed that makes a trustworthy companion. These dogs make great family pets as they are easy to train and form strong bonds with their family members.

What Are the Differences Between Irish Settlers & Golden Retrievers?

Both the Irish Setter and Golden Retriever are medium-sized dog breeds with a long, fine coat and a similar temperament. The Irish Setter is slightly bigger than the Golden Retriever and has slightly higher grooming and exercise requirements.

While the Golden Retriever needs plenty of socialization to help prevent them from becoming bored and depressed, the Irish Setter can be more independent and does not mind being left alone for a few hours if they have something to keep them busy.
