Hound Dog Names

Hounds are a type of dog classified by their ability to hunt and track prey. Divided into two groups, these dogs rely on their senses to lead them to victory.

First are the sighthounds who use their almost x-ray vision to spot their prey and zoom in with laser focus while tracking down their marks. Secondly, are the scenthounds, who have an exceptional sense of smell. Their ability to pick up the faintest of scents and follow them to their moving target is unbelievable. In addition to being incredibly talented, hounds are adorable!

There are many breeds, even a few unexpected ones, who fall into the hound category – Beagles, Dachshunds, and Whippets, to name a few – and each would be perfectly matched with a name inspired by our comprehensive list of over 100 hound dog names.
